BIOGRAPHY
Anne-Berit Slagstad spent
four years in Florence Italy, studying the art of Classical Realism.
She got her diploma from the Angel Academy of Art and thereafter
continued specializing in portrait painting at Charles Cecil
Studios. Throughout her studies she also attended various workshops
with the Florence Academy of Art and the Russian Academy.
Anne-Berit grew up in
Målselv, Norway, a small valley located north of the Arctic
Circle. This gave her the opportunity to observe the unique different
nuances of light that continues to influence her artwork.
Her images evoke the
personality and mood of the subject matter without the need for
props or peripheral content. She prefers creating paintings that
have a timeless quality to them. Complex images are conveyed
with efficiency and raw emotions while staying true to the classical
techniques of the Old Masters.
