Impressionistic Landscapes in
oil are only one of many diverse pursuits developed with other
artistic endeavors over the past thirty years for Paul Casebeer.
Paul began buying and selling
antiques years ago and it was here his eyes
for detail and quality was honed. Antique trading led to a foray
into the art world where he traded paintings and began his own
collection.
During this period Paul met and was influenced by impressionist
master,
Ovanes Berberian. Berberian (who studied under Sergei Bongart)
has most influenced Paul's style and approach to art. As a founding
partner of Buffalo Studio's, Paul spent time working with light,
shapes and color in creating bronzes, leaded lamps, and lanterns.
Some were sold through The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Born and raised in Pasadena, he was very much influenced by artists
and architects of the Arroyo Seco. This is reflected in his property,
which is a sculpted amalgam of rocks bricks, cobblestones, and
manhole covers orchestrated to produce a terrain in harmony with
art...Truly a monumental sculpture. Amidst this sanctuary is
Paul's outdoor studio.
The broad tapestry of Paul's interest and influences have brought
to his painting a very interesting and exciting application of
the elements in his current work.
For the past few years, painting has become Paul's passion and
main pursuit.
His diverse background and success in other artistic avenues
will continue
to color his work and its evolution.
Paul is known for his atmospheric plein-air paintings.
