I was born in Taipei city, Taiwan,
in 1972. I have studied painting for several years since I was
a child in elementary school. When I attended the national Taiwan
College of art as a BFA student, I focused on Chinese painting.
After I received my BFA in Taipei, I had a desire to study abroad
because I wanted to grow a broader view as an artist. In the
year of 1999, I decided to come to San Francisco to attend the
graduate school at the academy of art College. During the time
I was in college studying the oil painting, many artists influenced
me, and one of them was Professor Hui-Han, Liu. He is not only
influenced me in his style and techniques, but also his devotion
to his dream in art. His steady well and dauntless character
influenced me deeply, and I hope that I would have the same level
of achievement as his.
Changing from a Chinese painting
artist to be a Western style oil painter was a turning point
for me. I had a hard time mixing color and painting the way to
be, but I practiced all the time. My goals in the future are
to be a respectful professor and expose my artwork in museum.
I would also like to earn recognition through competitions. I
will work hard to reach my goals.
