Zin Lim
Born in Seoul, South Korea in
1974, Zin Lim received a B.F.A. in Environmental Design from
Hong Ik University, Seoul in 2000. Right after graduation Zin
Lim moved to San Francisco. He received a 2nd B.F.A. in 2003
and M.F.A. in 2006 of Fine Art: Painting from Academy of Art
University, San Francisco.
Zin Lim paints figure in oil.
He dedicated the first half of his M.F.A. to develop a solid
technique in realism. Simultaneously, Lim also experimented with
expressive and abstract techniques, because he believes that
each of these disparate structures always complements the other,
and also induces the synergy effect. Lim has dedicated painful
but sweet time using both hand and heart to create his artwork
in technique and philosophy. In 3 and half years since Lim started
painting, He has won several awards in national and international
major competitions including ‘The Portrait Society of America’,
‘The Salon International’ and ‘The Oil Painter's
of America.’
