2005 Western Regional Juried Exhibition of Traditional Oils, 2005

OPA’s next Western Regional Exhibition will be hosted by Waterhouse Gallery in Santa Barbara, California in June, 2005 where small paintings will be featured. Beautiful and relaxing Santa Barbara, California, is famous for its dramatic mix of breathtaking mountains, valleys, beaches, islands and ocean. Its rich Spanish heritage accentuates the area’s natural beauty and provides the city’s distinctive architecture, the cobbled pathways, red tile roofs, and missionstyle adobes. It is no surprise, that Santa Barbara County’s cultural arts scene has become one of its star attractions with more than 50 museums and galleries, world-class performing arts, dance, opera and symphony.

Our goal is to assemble the finest display of representational oil paintings in the region. The focus in the jurying process will be to select paintings that show the highest quality in draftsmanship, color, and composition, emphasizing a diversity in representational style and subject matter. We invite you to submit a truly outstanding piece. Your participation in this show will help further the OPA goal of increasing public awareness of the exceptional quality of representational art available in the Western region.

Total Awards will be a minimum of $5,000, including a $2,000 Best of Show.

The awarding juror for our Year 2005 Western Regional Show will be nationally recognized Master Signature Member Nancy S. Crookston OPAM. Eligible states and provinces include: Alaska, Arizona, British Columbia, California, Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon, Washington and Yukon Territories.
