ARTIST STATEMENT:
I paint for the passion derived from the process, hoping
to produce works that will be relevant during their
generation and enduring through time.
Randy Ford is a realist painter.
He paints scenes of everyday American life cataloguing events
and objects of Americana for present and future audiences. From
early in his life to the present, Ford has always been most comfortable
with orderly environments and precise and quantified procedures.
This outlook is the perfect grounding point for a realist painter.
An early high school photography course defining the focal
point and its impact on the final image is what has held
Fords attention to detail and the real versus
what could be viewed as just a painting. The foundation
learned those many years ago is the basis for his work today.
Using photographic reference, Ford always attempts to stay true
to colors of the source photos but will sacrifice color if it
means a better focus or enhanced detail
