Robert Davis

Robert L. Davis was born and raised in California. He received his M.M in music at the University of the Pacific. While teaching music San Francisco, he pursued his aspirations towards artistic expressions that has continued throughout his life.

In 1965, Robert moved to Santa Barbara, Ca., with his family where he continued
his music instruction at Santa Barbara City College. Although he recently retired
from teaching, Robert continues his musical profession by performing at local
functions, and devoting energy to his first love - oil painting.

Since his college years Robert has studied with Helen Dooley of Carmel,
Kenneth Nack and Robert Frame, both of Santa Barbara. Most recently,
he completed oil painting workshops with Ted Goerschner of Santa Ynez, Ca.

Robert paints mostly from life and en plein air. He states, "I am drawn to reflective waters and harbor images, when the early morning sunlight and late
afternoon shadows are constant sources of mood and light." The still lifes and landscapes of Robert Davis are found in art collections throughout the U.S.
